PRESS STATEMENT

On Wednesday, January 26, 2022-- the Columbia Housing Board of Commissioners accepted the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Ivory Mathews.

The Columbia Housing Authority has issued the following statement:

The Columbia Housing Board of Commissioners has accepted the resignation of Ivory N. Mathews, who has led the agency since July 2019. On behalf of the entire Board, we thank Ms. Mathews for her service.

We want to advise the public that the Board of Commissioners is committed to continuing with all pending initiatives and ensuring stability for our residents and staff. To accomplish a successful transition, we have a competent senior team led by Yvonda Bean (pronounced E-Vonda Bean) who has been Chief Operating Officer since August 2019. The Board of Commissioners, pending approval of a contract, has unanimously voted to appoint Mrs. Bean as Interim CEO. We believe that under her leadership, the senior team will continue our level of service to our residents and stakeholders during this period.
